The online casino gambling industry is one of the most successful ventures on the Internet. For over fifteen years, the online casino industry has made its mark in cyberspace. Today, the fledgling industry has grown to incorporate over two thousand casinos on the World Wide Web. Far too many of these casinos do not represent the players’ best interests, and they are in business to make as much money as they can anyway they can!
Too often, players are left in the lurch regarding the regulatory oversight of these casinos. While there are a few independent oversight bodies that exert satisfactory controls over the online casinos that are members of their organizations, there are too many casinos that are unregulated. For these casinos that are renegade casinos, they purport to work on behalf of their players, but too often they fleece the players out of money.
One of the most common complaints of players is the slow payouts of these online casinos. The casinos hold the money in the players’ accounts, and then take their sweet time in processing requests for money held in account. Some players complain that they seldom, if ever, get paid their winning share in a timely manner. In some cases, disreputable online casinos will not respond to requests for player payouts at all.
The need for a regulatory commission in the online gambling industry is necessary. In order to exert control over the industry in a uniform manner, there needs to be one regulatory commission that oversees all online casinos and their policies and protocols. At this time, with the strong possibility that online gambling in the United States will become a reality by the end of the year, it is the perfect moment for the U.S. to join forces with the European Union to address this matter of urgent concern.
A regulatory commission for online gambling would be able to root out those online casinos whose nefarious practices are jeopardizing online gambling for everyone. Online casino gambling is an amazing industry which brings happiness and joy to those who otherwise would never be able to play their favourite casino games. The elderly, shut-ins, the disabled and the sick are some segments of our population that would never be able to play casino games if there were no online casino industry. Let’s develop a regulatory commission that can exert clout over an industry that desperately cries out for regulation, not prohibition!
