The free online video poker industry has captured the fancy of the public because it has transferred the excitement once found in video poker machines in land-based casinos into the online casino industry. Free online video poker became a phenomenon once the economy began to discombobulate in 2008. Players needed to become more conservative with their discretionary incomes, and not be so foolhardy as to gamble their earnings on a regular basis.
There are many types of free online video poker variants from which to choose. Some of the most popular free online video poker variants are: Jacks or Better Poker; Deuces Wild Poker; and Bonus Poker.
Here, we continue our educational seminar and continue with our listing of key terms you should know when you play free online video poker:
- Four Card Inside Straight – This is a hand with four cards in a broken sequence of order, such as 2, 3, 4, 5, and King. The hand is one card short of a straight.
- Four Card Inside Flush – This is a hand that contains four cards of the same suit and another card that is out of sequential order. An example is a hand consisting of a 4, 6, 7, and 9 of Hearts and the Jack of Spades. The hand is one card short of a flush.
- Four Card Royal Flush – This is a hand with four cards of the same suit with a value of at least 10 or higher. Examples of hands of this nature are a 10, Jack, Queen and King of Diamonds, and the 3 of Clubs; the Ace, King, Queen and 10 of Spades and the 6 of Hearts. The hand is one card short of a Royal Flush, the ultimate hand in most card games.
- Four Card Sequential Royal Flush – This hand is an actual Four Card Royal Flush in which the cards fit into a Sequential Royal Flush pattern. This pattern can exist either from left-to-right or right-to-left. An example of a left-to-right pattern is as follows: Ace, King and Queen of Hearts, a 7 of Diamonds and a 10 of Hearts. If the hand could substitute the 7 of Diamonds and draw a Jack of Hearts, then hand would become a perfect Sequential Royal Flush. An example of a right-to-left Sequential Four Card Royal Flush is as follows: 10 and Jack of Clubs, a 5 of Hearts, King and Ace of Clubs. If the player discards the 5 of Hearts and draws a Queen of Clubs, the hand would become a perfect Sequential right-to-left Royal Flush.
