Free online video poker history has been compared to the emergence of electronic slot machines in the 1970’s. Originally, the game was not received favourably by the gamblers in land-based casinos, because it didn’t resemble traditional games of poker played among a group of players around a table. However, in 1979, a Draw Poker version was created which recreated the traditional poker game, and revolutionized the casino gaming industry. Video Poker games soon began appearing in land-based casinos as players gained more confidence in the use of video machines.
Free online video poker history advanced remarkably throughout the development of the Internet. The technological advances of the Internet allowed for the growth of the online casino gambling industry, and gave great exposure to online video poker games worldwide. Soon, free casino sites emerged offering free casino games. The mainstay of this forum was online video poker games presented in no download video poker format. Free video poker is now available in the comfort of homes around the world, even by folks who have no access to land-based casinos.

The beauty of Video Poker at Onlinegambling.co.uk is that you have the option of playing any of three variations of poker: Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker and Deuces Wild. Simply click on the “switch game” tab on the top of the page and you’ll be able to move seamlessly among all three variations of Free Online Video Poker.
Jacks or Better Video Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. You will receive five cards and you decide which cards to retain. You may then discard the others and have them replaced with new ones. These five cards now represent your final hand.

- Click on “Bet One” or “Max Bet.” The max bet on all games is 5, and we encourage all players to bet the max at all times, unless their chip availability prohibits it.
- Click on “Deal.”
- You are dealt five cards face up. You may choose to keep as many as you wish, and discard as many as you wish, up to and including all of the cards that were dealt to you.

Follow the strategy for Jacks or Better Poker. Winning payouts are listed on the Bonus Poker Video Poker screen. The difference in Bonus Poker is that, if you win a game, you have the option of having a one-card showdown with the Dealer for “Double or Nothing.”
The bonus aspect of the game is played as follows:
- After a win, the game screen gives the option of playing the bonus – click “Yes” if you want to play and “No” if you want to simply take your winnings and go on to the next game.
- If you click “Yes,” five cards will appear on screen, and one will be face up. That is the Dealer’s card.
- Among the four face down cards, click on one of them.
- Both cards are then turned face up. If your card is higher than the Dealer, then you have doubled your winnings on that game. If the Dealer has a higher card, then you lose your winnings for that game.
In Deuces Wild Video Poker, the Deuces (2’s) are wild cards that can represent any card you want it to in order to complete a hand to your maximum advantage. In Deuces Wild Video Poker, you have the opportunity of drawing as many as four wild cards (2’s). The game is played with the standard deck of 52 cards.
Due to the different possibilities, depending on the number of wild cards you possess in your hand, there are five distinct strategies for Deuces Wild Video Poker. Winning payouts are listed on the Deuces Wild Video Poker screen.
