Vancouver,
, proved to be an historic stage for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Despite the horrifying start to the Games, with the tragic death of the Georgian luger, the Games concluded with a memorable climax. The Canadians defeated the
in overtime to capture the gold medal.
In all, the , and were the big winners, and and showed well in the Games. was the big loser, and promptly made changes in its Olympic administration shortly after the final curtain on the Games went down.
The Sports Guru of Onlinegambling.co.uk also won $200 on the Games, as he correctly picked the Gold Medal winners Evan Lysacek and Yu-Na-Kim in Men’s and Women’s Figure Skating respectively. However, the Guru will be the first to tell you that he blew a chance at an amazing Olympic slate if he had made his online sportsbook selections in a different manner.
His Olympic sports bet included , the and in that order for total medal count. If he had boxed these three choices, his online betting result would have been correct and his earnings would have been monstrous for the Olympics. Sports betting is an ongoing learning experience, and the Sports Guru will pocket this experience to use to his benefit in sports betting down the road.
One of the great online betting events of the online sportsbook year, March Madness, starts next week. The Sports Guru will publish his selections for the first and second round games in time for you to go to your favourite online sportsbook parlours and place your sports bets.
The Sports Guru made a couple of amazing future bets earlier in the year, which we shall review at this time. Over five months ago, the Sports Guru selected
Syracuse
as the NCAA March Madness Tourney winner. It should be noted that
Syracuse
was not considered by any expert to be a contender for the national title. Yet, the
University
of
Syracuse
has skyrocketed over the course of the year to the #1 ranking in the polls as of today. For those who followed the Guru’s lead and placed some pounds on Syracuse, there may be a pot of gold for you at the end of March Madness.
Also, the Guru made a futures bet on the New Jersey Nets basketball team. The Guru placed a sports bet that the Nets would not win 19 games over the span of the regular season schedule. The Nets record presently stands at 6-55 with 21 games remaining.
How are those bets working out for you??
For 2010, the Sports Guru of Onlinegambling.co.uk stands at a hypothetical profit of $910.

These facts are undisputed – Canada has never won a gold medal on its own soil when it has hosted the event. During the Summer Olympics of 1976, held in Montreal and the Winter Olympics of 1988 held in Calgary, Canada failed to win a gold medal. The fact weighed heavily on the minds and in the hearts of Canadians as the Olympic torch made its way over the past three months through Canada’s ten provinces and three territories.
Despite this gloomy past, Canada has done remarkably well in the previous two Winter Olympics, garnering 41 medals, including 14 of the gold variety. So, why is there the doom and gloom concerning the Canadians’ upcoming performance in Vancouver? Well, it is obvious that the pressure is self-imposed, particularly on the Canadian ice hockey squad, favoured to capture the gold medal.
Anyway, the time has come for us to put our theoretical monies where are mouths are. So, here are my sports betting selections, at a theoretical $100 per wager, on this year’s Winter Olympics. You still have time to place your sports bets with your preferred online sportsbook venue with current online betting lines. You can make a hefty profit through sports betting online. We wish everyone the best of luck. Enjoy the games!
Ice Hockey
Perhaps the most glamorous of all the Winter Olympic events, the gold medal will come down to a contest among these four countries: Canada (10-11); Russia (5-2); Sweden (11-2); and the United states (15-2). The easy selection is to take Canada, which will fulfill the dreams of all Canadians. However, this is not the way to win money. Russia is determined to capture the gold, and the odds substantiate the selection. Take the Russian squad at 5-2.
Other selections are as follows:
· Total Medal Winner – Germany (3-2)
· Total Gold Medal Winner – Germany (3-2)
· Second Place in Total Medals – Canada (5-2)
· Third Place in Total Medals – United States (9-2)
· Men’s Figure Skating Gold Medal – Evan Lysacek – (6-1)
· Women’s Figure Skating Gold Medal – Yu-Na-Kim – (3-2)
The Guru stands for the year at a theoretical profit of $710 to date

Playing with the heart of a champion and the guts of a riverboat gambler, the New Orleans Saints stole the thunder from the heavily favoured Indianapolis Colts and won the Super Bowl with a 31-17 victory. The Colts were thought to be invincible, but the fearless play-calling of Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton, paved the way for the upset win.
The Colts had a 10-6 lead at halftime, and were expecting to receive the kickoff to start the third quarter. However, Coach Payton called for an onside kick, which the Saints recovered, and later went in to score and take the lead.
The final nail in the coffin took place in the last three minutes of the game when The Saints Tracy Porter intercepted a Peyton Manning pass and scored. While the Sports Guru lost $330 on the outcome of the game, he did remarkably well on his other picks. We hope you took his advice on those picks and placed a sports bet or two on an online sportsbook with a sports betting line parlour. Remember, always confirm the lines with your online sportsbook site before placing any wagers. Never wager blindly on my picks.
Colt defensive star, Dwight Feeney, has hurt his ankle and is questionable. This may play a big role in the New Orleans strategy to run the ball more often. However, I am staying with my picks.

3. Shirt Number of the First T.D. Scorer – Over 28.5 (Even)

Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the most exiting time of the sports betting year – the Super Bowl. It is estimated that there will be over $2 Billion wagered on the outcome of the Super Bowl football game for the Championship of the National Football League. Last year, online sportsbook sites took in more action on the Super Bowl than the land-based casinos, and the difference in sports bets is expected to become even more exaggerated this year.
The game is scheduled for Sunday, February 7th in
Miami, and the combatants are the Indianapolis Colts, Champions of the American Conference, and the New Orleans Saints, Champions of the National Conference. The Colts advanced by defeating the New York Jets by a 30-17 score, while the Saints edged the Minnesota Vikings in overtime by a score of 31-28.
The early line has the Colts a 5 point favorite, and the combined total score is 56. The line figures to rise over the next week. So, if you like the Colts, wager your money before the line goes to 6 or above. Peyton Manning is an all-time great quarterback, and you should look for him to add to his legacy with a convincing win over the Saints.
The Saints were less than spectacular in their overtime win at home against the Vikings. Their receiver corps appeared awestruck, and they dropped many passes from Quarterback Drew Brees. They can’t afford such mistakes against Manning & Co.
The sports betting online sites will be buzzing over the next ten days. There will be a plethora of proposition bets and exotic wagers. We’ll study them over the course of the week and present to you our best Super Bowl online betting choices next week.
For this week, however, we must make our Super Bowl selection, and it is the
Indianapolis Colts at (-5) over the
New Orleans Saints for $300. Check out the best online betting sites, and place your wager on the Colts before the line moves up, and you have to give up more points.
At this point of the season, we stand strong with a +$430 for college football, and +$130 on pro football. Check in next week to review our entire slate of Super Bowl wagers.

This week is Divisional Playoff weekend for the N.F.L. Football fans generally regard this weekend as the most exciting football weekend of the year. Sports betting enthusiasts look forward to this weekend because there is big money to be made on football teams that get “hot” at this time of year. The Guru begins this week’s theoretical sports betting card with a profit of $170 from prior NFL bets.
- Arizona (+7) over New Orleans - Kurt Warner is a tremendous playoff quarterback, and the New Orleans Saints have not regained their mid-season form. Look for the Cardinals to upset the Saints outright by the score of 37-31.
- Indianapolis (-6 ½) over Baltimore - These two teams battled royally earlier in the year, but this contest will be decided by the third quarter. Peyton Manning stars and the Indianapolis Colts will overpower the Baltimore Ravens by the score of 31-13.
- Minnesota (-2 ½) over Dallas - While the Dallas Cowboys are the popular pick, let’s look at the facts. Dallas is not a solid road team, and Minnesota has a staunch defense. Bret Farve will turn back the hands of time with a memorable performance and will lead the Minnesota Vikings to a 28-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
- New York (+8) over San Diego - The New York Jets will cover this spread with ease, and could very well upset the Chargers from San Diego. For the record, we predict the Chargers will win in overtime, 27-24, but don’t be surprised if the Jets advance to the AFC finals next week in Indianapolis.
We also will throw in a couple of additional bets you can find on the online sportsbook card:
- Jets (+4) over San Diego at half-time.
- Minnesota-Dallas over 23 points for a combined half time score.
Good luck to all!
